Riding Responsibly
To better enjoy your ride, we highly recommend familiarizing yourself with your local electric bike laws. Riding responsibly includes wearing proper safety gear, being aware of your limitations, as well as being aware of the limitations of your electric bike/trike. As with the use of any vehicle, there are inherent risks with riding an electric bike/trike that are solely the rider's responsibility. Northwest Electric Bikes, LLC will not be held liable in any way for damage to persons or property.

The Battery
The batteries we provide at Northwest Electric Bikes, LLC are lithium-ion. With proper care, these batteries have a lifespan of up to 1,000 charge cycles. The following guidelines should yield the battery's maximum potential.
If you plan on storing your bike for winter or seasonal use, the battery will need to be kept at or above 70%. We advise not letting the battery go below 20%. A normal practice of charging when you are finished riding is sufficient for those who use the bike very often. Since the charger is a trickle charger, it is OK to leave the battery on charge all the time when not in use. By doing so, battery storage and having a full charge is not an issue. When charging the battery, make sure the charger is on a flat surface and charges in a cool, dry place where no debris can get to it. Do not cover the charger when it is charging the battery as it is air cooled. Once the battery is fully charged, you may unplug it. The battery does not need to be removed in order to be charged. Do not yank any cables; gently pull by the base of the connector to avoid damage. Charging takes up to 7 hours depending on the initial levels.
If the battery gets damaged, dropped, or is involved in an accident, we advise getting a new battery for safety. Opening the battery housing will void all warranties.

Brakes
Before your first ride, be sure the brakes are adjusted properly for safety and to your desired preference. There are brake cut-outs that when applied cut power to the motor. After about 50 miles, we highly recommend getting the brakes and derailleur readjusted to accommodate for cable stretching.
Tires
Your bike/trike will come with the appropriate amount of tire pressure when you receive it. Before every ride, verify your tire pressure as well as the tread on your tires. While tires are puncture resistant, they are not puncture proof. Flat tires should be replaced with a new tube and tire. To add more protection from flat tires, we highly recommend using tire liners. They provide an additional tough layer between the tires and tubes.
Proper Care
Northwest Electric Bikes, LLC, recommends that you keep your bike stored in a clean, dry, cool place. Never leave your bike outside where it can gather moisture. Keeping it locked and out of sight will deter theft. After every ride, be sure to wipe your bike/trike clean to avoid corrosion. If you are riding on sandy areas such as beaches or deserts, we highly recommend using compressed air around all moving parts to clear sand away.
NOTE: Due to various exposure, Northwest Electric Bikes, LLC will not be held liable for damage due to sand, salt, dirt, debris, water, or extreme conditions.
